Default On Satellite

You may want to invest in satellite radio. I haven't been impressed with any of the radio stations in the area.

Smile What No Jazz Stations?

I will be moving from NY and I love my smooth jazz! I guess if there aren't any good jazz stations down there, I will have to go check out some of the jazz clubs I have seen on line in the Raleigh area.
Are there any other radio stations you would recommend for rock, r&b, etc. I listen to everything!

You can get smooth jazz in Raleigh.
If you have satellite that is....
sirius jazz cafe.
Or you can hang out at the Land Rover dealership all day.
Before satellite, I had some success with internet radio stations.

WZTK, 101.1 FM has smooth jazz on weekends, talk during the week - there are also a number of internet radio stations that have it. I don't remember the URL for those but I just helped a coworker find one recently - you'll find one if you google it.

Satellite radio, hands down. Not only a much greater selection of music, but no commercials, either. I'll never go back to terrestrial radio if I can at all help it.

Another vote for satellite. I never had it before moving here. Now I can't imagine NOT having it in the car.

WSHA 88.9 doesn't really play any smooth jazz but it plays some of the most amazing jazz I've heard. All the DJs know their stuff and the station has a very extensive catalog where very few things are repeated. During the daytime, there seems to be a little more of a focus on jazz vocalists but late at night is when the best music is played. They also have (or used to) Funk Fridays which is a great way to start the weekend off and transition yourself into party mode.

Based on the sheer amount of incredible music the station introduced me to, I have to say its my all-time favorite radio station. Give it a try sometime.
