I just got to know. I keep looking at housing markets, crime stats, education, shopping, convenience, etc. But what about the other side of things, the essential unecessaries? I LoVe to play pool and have a couple beers. I like a jukebox, I like a DJ, or whatever, but I don't tend to like R&B pool halls much. it makes me drink more! LOL

Whatever...anybody here like to play? And where can I find some great places? I like to stay out, on rare occasion, as late as I can, 3 or 4 times a year. Other times, I'm content with dinner and movie. Honestly, I'd rather have a few friends I could hang out with on the weekends, or every other weekend, who like to play, too. For me, it's about the game, the friends and the atmosphere. I'm seeking my "third place."

A little about me: Female, married, Class of '87 and I love classic rock (such as *Boston*) Don't mind being an "old fogie" if it's my own crowd. hee hee!

I have a friend that plays in a league at Snookers at Ridge Rd. S.C. on Wade AVe. in Raleigh. Loves it. She is married, but her husband doesn't play. I have played there and enjoyed it, but not for league play.

If it's called Snookers, that's avery good sign indeed. I have never joined a league, but there was a time in my life when I was pretty eager to. My daughter is 2 and a 1/2 right now, so that wouldn't happen all that soon. But nice options! Thank you for the wonderful tip. *twirl*

Babineau's in Cary is one of the nicest pool halls around. Full bar and gold crown tables, very spacious and well kept.

Fat Daddy's on Glenwood has a downstairs area with nice tables and cheap cold beer. O'Dwyer's in Wake Forest just opened up a backroom with two tables and english dart boards.

There is a new pool hall opening up in Fuquay. It's actually right off the 55 bypass right past the border of Holly Springs. It may even be open by now. There is a sports bar opening right next to it or they are one and the same but I can't tell when I'm whizzing by on the road.

Harrison's in Cary, Snookers, Fat Daddy's, and Babineau's are all good places. Then there are some smaller sports bars in the area with pool tables as well. I wish I had seen your post last night! My neighbor and I (both mid 30's, married females) went out to Mac's Tavern in Cary to shoot pool and play darts last night! I'll let yo know the next time we go. We try to get out a couple of times a month!
