I have been going through all the threads on relocating and have been getting a feel for what people are saying. My husband and I will be visiting March 15-17 and want to get a feel for each of the areas since we are looking to relocate to Apex, Cary, Wake Forest in June/July. Could anyone recommend specific areas to check out while we are here? We have 4 children (not coming on this trip) aged 8, 6, 3 and 2. I've also been looking at the WCPSS website has the reassignments every year stopped and children stay at their school? Also we are used to having stores, pharmacies and everything within walking distance where we are but we are definitely looking for more of a small town non-snobby feel. We are also looking at 4+ bedrooms within the low to mid 3 range. Most of the threads say to rent first and get a feel for the area but with 4 kids I really really don't want to have to pack and move more than I have to I know you all can relate. Moving is a pain! What about HOA fees are they all really different and expensive? Also are there any pet restrictions? We are going to want to have a med to large dog can housing associations say no? And lastly would anyone be willing to show us around that doesn't have a vested interest in making money off of us? Thank you all for your time and thoughts on this. I tried to be as detailed as possible.
