We're rather new to the area, but always loved restaurant week when we lived in Phoenix metro. We were able to try restaurants that we normally couldn't afford, and really get some great deals.
Anything on this year's list that we should consider? Lunch or dinner is good with us.
I haven't found it to be the wonderful event that you find in some other areas. Often the special menus offered are not particularly interesting and you often can do better off the regular menu. It has felt as though restaurants are participating because they feel they must - not because they wish to give new patrons a taste of what they do best. I no longer bother with it...
I love it! It gives me an opportunity to go to Sullivan's, Ruth's Chris, Mo's Diner, etc for almost half the cost. I go at least one place each TWW or RWW. I also like to try new places when it is more affordable to do so. I am hoping that I like the look of Bolt's menu as that is what I want to try on this one.

I'm not familiar with "Restaurant week". How do you find out which restaurants are offering half price entrees?
They post the menus online about a week beforehand, sometimes sooner. Some restaurants are definitely better deals than others. I'm hoping a decent number will participate in lunch menus this year.
There is also Raleigh Restaurant week. Many of the restaurants also offer beer and/or wine flights where you get a different 6 oz pour with each course for another $10-14 which is great. If you are on Facebook, I recommend "liking" them there so that you always know when it is coming up.
Too bad the Raleigh Restaurant Week is limited to downtown restaurants. We just can't get used to driving at night here. Streetlights are something we're dependent on. Sucks getting old.
