I know Duffy's on FON closed last month. I noticed the other day there are a lot of renovations going on to the outside and inside of the building. Does anyone know what is going on....something new coming or the dry cleaners next door expanding?

Good, the one thing the Raleigh area doesn't have enough of is Irish Pubs.

Actually, it's a good thing. Duffy's was an old, outdated watering hole that had been losing business for years. I'll definitely patronize the new place, because it'll be a lot closer to where I live.

I agree Duffy's was a victim of time especially with the Lafayette Village opening and Pipers across the street. I have never been to the Hibernian Pub, but definitely will now since it is just around the corner from me.

Never went to Duffy's before they closed and given Hibernian owner Niall Hanley's staunch opposition to food trucks in Raleigh a few years back, I doubt I'll give this any patronage either.

I only went to Duffy's once. Everyone said it was just like Piper's but I always liked Piper's so much more.

Lafayette Village Grill is very good, as well.

Not sure we really need another grill so close by but only time will tell!

We need another grill.....Hibernian, Pipers, Lafayette Village Grill to feed all those hungry fitness nuts when they leave the new fitness complex that is going to be built on the driving range property up the street....

It was time for Duffy's to go-old and outdated.
