Hi everyone,
We are looking for feedback on private schools in Raleigh (Six Forks/Falls of Neuse area - although we're willing to drive a bit). Any feedback on the The Franciscan School or the Montessori School of Raleigh would be especially appreciated.
Thanks!

Ravenscroft, on Falls of the Neuse, is a superb school (I am an alum, but it's grown tremendously since I finished in the 80s), but the tuition is "superb", as well. But it should certainly be on your list of Raleigh private schools.

It might be helpful if you would say what ages your kids are.

I second Ravenscroft. I have two sons who go there. One is a senior and one is a sophomore. Let me say, I never expected to put my sons in private school. I always supported public school, but it made the most sense here. If you want to see what the school is really like, go after school hours each day and see how many kids are still on campus for various things. Also, check the credentials of the faculty to find out how many have a Phd.
Best of luck

I know several parents at The Montessori School of Raleigh and they all have had a very positive experience.

Many people also consider St. David's when looking at Ravenscroft. St. David's is a smaller, more intimate environment than Ravenscroft or Cardinal Gibbons (the other very large private school in Raleigh).

Our children attend St. Timothy's on Six Forks. It's our first year (we're new to the area) and we've been very pleased so far. We chose a K-8 school deliberately for several reasons.
