Well kind of on the corner. There is what appears to be a loan new construction home and what appears to be an entrance to a possible future housing developement (has a picture of a stallion on it and may say stone and sears? hard to read when driving by)sign. can someone tell me what this is? Thanks

This is going to be a big development. There were many angry residents. The Cary Town Council and Mayor approved. You can visit davisandhighhouse.org for information.

Searstone will be senior housing with shops and a major health/wellness center. The other side will be more housing, shopping, offices. The building sizes will be much taller there. They predit this corner to compare to Kildaire/Tryon intersection when it is all done. This is just a quick synopsis. The above link can provide you with the most information.

That link is from the perpsective of a group of NIMBY homeowners scared of change. Not very informative at all in my opinion. Those folks sure didn't mind when developers turned farmland into Preston, etc. Now they want to prevent other developers from developing their land. A whopping 3 non-anonymous signings of their online petition.

The plans look fairly reasonable to me. Why not have some denser housing options close to the shopping at Stone Creek? Does everything have to be sprawl on the outskirts?

I posted that website because it was the only one that I know of that provides detail about what the actual plans are for that intersection so CAKD could get an idea of what is going in there. Everybody has their own opinion. So welcome the idea of a large scale housing, shopping and offices going in there and think growth is the way to go. Some say development like that doesn't belong in a residential area like that so close to housing, schools and the increase in traffic would defeat the purpose of the widening of Davis Drive.
