My kids currently attend Clayton High School, but I've found a few rental homes I'm considering hat are in the Corinth-Holders and Cleveland High school districts - now one has popped up in the W Johnston district.
Anyone had kids who have gone to Clayton High, then transferred to either of those schools? If we do end up moving out of Clayton High District, my son would spend his junior and senior year at another school.....
I'm interested in hearing some opinions. You can email me if you prefer....Thanks!
I think your child would be fine at any of the high schools listed. My daughter goes to Cleveland High School and she loves it. I have had nothing but positive experiences at the school. She has had several friends that began at Clayton and ended up at Cleveland for a variety of reasons. Corinth-Holders would have many people from Clayton as well since its most geographically close to Clayton High.
Thanks for the feedback, Native. My kids are established (friends, sports) at Clayton; however, I'm not so attached lol. I would allow them both to finish at Clayton this year - so my one son will be entering either school as a junior. Any knowledge of the athletic programs at both schools? He wrestles, plays baseball, and soccer....
I believe the elementary school at both locations is River Dell; and Powhatan.
I suggest talking with your kids about how they feel about changing schools. Also, you "may" not be able to wait until next school year to change. They may would have to go ahead when you move. I moved from Garner to Clayton during 11th grade but I wanted to move. It was probably more of a drastic difference than what someone would experience today between the schools you mentioned. I graduated from Clayton but my son will graduate from Corinth.
