My partner and I are looking to move into the Raleigh area from Atlanta and don't know anything about the city.
What are the safer parts of Raleigh and suburbs?
What are the middle class areas that still offer safe schools as well as plenty of stores/shopping/amenities and are close to the highways.
We are presently living in the Cobb County part of Atlanta and would like something as close as possible to it in the Raleigh area.
Please share any information which you may have.
Thank You!

You have to start by doing your research on how the school system operates here. There are some great public schools but due to the fact that the school system is organized at the county level, where you live doesnt mean thats where your kids will go to school. It has been fairly volatile for a few years now. A new superintendent just took the reins and hopefully he will get somewhere.

You'll find North Raleigh similar to what you have in Cobb County-good amenities from restaurants to retail, good greenspace, easy to highway to get anywhere.

Raleigh is huge. North Raleigh has some great neighbors. But if you work at other part, commute can be nightmare. Have you checked Chapel Hill area? Public school system is excellent, city is wonderful and very liberal. You might also find something suit you near 54/55 (near Morrisville), it’s very close to the research triangle park, and Cary.

Hmm... could maybe narrow it down a little if we knew what you might need to be near... for work, for school, to be near friends/family, etc.

This area is fairly spread out with many great family neighborhoods all over.
