Someone just alerted me to this very cool site, which has graphs of cloud cover, precipitation, and temperature for every date going back to the 1950s!
Move the slider bar along the bottom to get to specific dates--maybe the day you were born!
I have it set to 27615 which is my own zip, but of course you can set it to any zip code.
Oh, boy I could spend HOURS on a site like that....it was fun to see that it was 100 degrees when we rolled into town this past summer! I just remember HOT!
I loved looking up specific dates where I remembered the weather, like Nov 28, 1988 when the tornado came (it just has "thunderstorms") and a few times in high school when we got snowstorms.
I know that the record low for Raleigh was -9, set on Jan 21, 1985, though this site only has it going down to -7. I guess the "official" measurement is from a slightly different area.
Cool! It even goes back as far as my birthday....wow!
