Hi all,

So I really miss banking with Chase. There is no chase here so I went with Wachovia. I cant stand how they take forever to take transactions out. I don't know , I just don't like how they do things. Any suggestions? What are your experiences like?

Thanks, I appreciate.

I don't understand what you mean by this. What kinds of transactions? How long are they taking?

Hey....

I don't know its just weird how they have a holding transactions place. What I liked about chase is that as soon as you paid a bill through the company or any transactions you made, it automatically was taken out. Here they hold it for 3 days or so even if you paid through a checking account. The company would have the money but the bank hasn't taken it out yet. I don't know, I just don't like how they handle things. What other banks do you guys suggest?

Have you called Wachovia to ask what the "hold up" is? Having worked in banking before, I know that there are a myriad of reasons some transactions don't post immediately. Perhaps asking them to clarify it for you would ease your mind.

Also, with new regulations spewing from the gov't nearly every day, there's no telling what may have happened in even the last few months to force the banks to change how they operate and/or report information to their consumers.

I'd certainly confirm these issues with my bank before going through the rigmarole of setting up a new account with a new financial institution -- especially since you seem to indicate you do online banking/bill pay.

Wachovia used to be a great bank, but those days are gone. Coastal Federal Credit Union would be worth looking at. I am done with the big banks.

Coastal has the worst CS of any bank I have ever dealt with. They screwed up many loans for me, never call back, etc.

I have been a First Union/Wachovia/Wells Fargo customer for 13 years and never had any trouble with them. Their fees can be a little high though if you don't carry the necessary minimums.

Do you have online banking with them?

I can't stand Coastal either. They screwed up so much stuff, even little, basic things. I just couldn't deal with it anymore. I don't know if it's a branch thing or if they're all like that! I closed all my accounts there!
I'm slowly starting to really despise BB&T too. We bank at SECU and I love it, but realize not everyone can take advantage of them. But if you can, I HIGHLY recommend them.
I banked with Wachovia years ago and remember their fees being high too, but otherwise I never had any issues with them.

I've been with them since the mid 70's. I've used online banking with them for the last several years and have certainly never noticed that "outgoing" transactions take a long time. Credits for a deposit are another story!

I am another fan of Wachovia, or at least I don't have an issue doing business with them. I have used their Bill-Pay service for years and have never had any negative issues. I hate change as much as anyone so I can appreciate what the op is going through though. I used one major credit card for years and really liked the way their web site worked to track transactions. I switched to another credit card company and thought I hated their way of tracking things, but once I got use to it I ended up liking it better than the previous cards.
