Wanted to add that we are considering both the townhouses and the homes.

Moved into a house in Long Lake about six months ago, and have been really happy. Family-friendly, multi-cultural neighborhood, nice pool, fitness center and tennis courts. Really nice neighbors. Our kids are too young for school yet, but the area schools are very good. The HOA is good, if somewhat strict.

Just be aware that there are plans to build an apartment complex right next to the townhouses (in the current Water Garden property), and the apartments are going to be for low-income residents. There is also a proposal for senior housing next to that the following year. Folks that live in the townhouses are particularly concerned, because these are going up literally in their back yards, although the community in general has its concerns. The builders (DHIC) are doing all they can to assure us that the apartment complex will be classy-looking, and that they'll thoroughly screen all their prospective tenants, but they obviously going to say all the right things. I'm not sure if knowing about this development would have prevented me from buying the house here, but I doubt it, although by all accounts we should all expect a drop in our property values once it gets built.

Bigmetsfan - Thanks for the information. It sounds to be exactly the type of neighborhood we are seeking, but the apartment issue is concerning.

I live in one of the townhouses off Country Trail. I haven't heard much about this project since the meeting a couple months ago.

BTW - I, too, am a Mets fan. Looking forward to brighter days with the leadership of Sandy Alderson.
