We like to go to the Chinese restaurant in the Chapel Hill north complex off MLK north of Timberlyne (the complex with the Harris Teeter) - I think it's called Ming Garden. It's located next to Pop's Pizzeria.
Dont expect "China Town" good.... but there are a couple decent places.
Jade Palace in Carrborro is good
CHina Wok (I think thats what its called) in the Timberline Shopping Center, used to be Tsing Tao is pretty good
To me, there is no real good places. Certian places have certian dishes that are good. You just have to find what you like. Nothing like NYC or SAn Fran China Town places...IMHO
As with Italian food places here.... lower your expectations and you'll be ok. I accually think some of the pizza here is good.... till I go back to Jersey and have a slice... lol....
Try Gourmet Kingdom in Carrboro - it's authentic Szechuan. I like Red Lotus's Shanghai menu too (you have to ask for the Shanghai menu).
