If you like Thai, I would highly recommend Lemongrass Thai Restaurant off Litchford Rd in North Raleigh. It is small and family owned, with excellent food. The vegetables in the curry and salads are always really fresh and it is not greasy at all, unlike some other Thai restaurants. They often run coupons in the money mailers etc. We frequent the place!
I'm planning on checking out some of the places mentioned. I'm eating out less at chains and really trying to find the smaller businesses that are either locally owned or just a smaller company.
Good. This area actually has a lot of great local places to eat and you're throwing money away on chains. Some of my favorite cheap eats/smaller places around include: Tacqueria Vaquitas in Durham (a walk up window, a few picnic tables and a cow on the roof), SuperWok in Cary, Spize for Vietnamese-esque sandwiches in downtown Raleigh (only open for lunch now, but the "pork baguette" is possibly the best sandwich in town), Sandwich in Chapel Hill (not cheap, but worth every penny), Neal's Deli in Carrboro, Kashin for Japanese in Cary, David's Dumpling and Noodle on Hillsborough near NC State, and lately, the new Dim Sum House in Morrisville.
Is Char Grill still around? I think it was on Hillsborough Rd & 1 other location. They had great burgers, etc. I liked the way they have you write your own ticket. Much less chance of errors.

Lemongrass is good, but I like Sawasdee better. They're small, too (at least their Capital Blvd. location is), but they have a more extensive menu. I was disappointed with the limited selection of curry dishes at Lemongrass.
BTW, the GROUPON for today is 54% off eating at the Savoy if you wanted to check it out yourself.
WOW! That's Perfect.Thanks!
