Need a Place to Run: Wake Forest Area (Raleigh: high schools, driving)

I am starting back running, and looking for a place near Wake Forest/Wakefield that is somewhat flat (no steep inclines), about a 3 mile route.

Also, does anyone know if any of the High Schools in the area allow easy access to their tracks??

Currently, I am driving from WF to Shelly Lake in Raleigh to run on the loop around the Lake. Need something closer to the WF area.

Have you tried Joyner Park? Lots of trails, I'm sure you could do 3 miles there.

Thanks for the information. I went over today to check it out and run. I did not realize it was only a few minutes from my house! Very impressive setting!
