I recently learned about DAR.fm Digital Audio Recorder DAR. It is a service that will record radio programs off of stations with Internet streams, including most syndicated shows, and enable you to play them back online or download the recordings.

I've been using it for a few weeks and have found it to be a good way to listen to Clark Howard, which is one of my favorite syndicated shows.

I don't use podcasts often enough on my iPods to justify the investment in storage space. The Internet radio is my preferred tool for consuming recorded shows and this method works well for listening to them there as I please without manual intervention.

Also, this tool works for shows like Kim Komando that don't have podcasts.

Looks like a great way to record radio! I noticed that they have a video clip to help identify just how to use the service which helps understand the setup options for the listeners. Thanks Bo for the info and link!

I started using DAR.fm last year after moving to a new city and it lets me continue listening to my favorite morning show -- a local show on FM radio that doesn't have a podcast. It's working great! If you listen to a station that has an online stream you can probably set up a recording of your favorite show (especially if you're looking for local flavor)
