To the shooting enthusiasts, where do you go to practice? Where are the best places, and what do they charge? Thanks in advance for any replies .

I 'think' there is one in Arcadia. I overheard this in a gun store one day. Hopefully someone has more knowledge than I.

Below is the web link for the public shooting ranges. The Babcock-Webb Public Shooting Range is in Punta Gorda on Tucker Grade. The hours open are listed on the site. Gate is locked at 6pm everyday with the last shot fired 15 minutes prior to closing. Visitors must pay the park entrance fee of $3.00 per person or $6.00 per non commercial vehicle.

I saw a sign outside of one of the gun stores on Tamiami across from the library in Port Charlotte (there are two gun stores close to each other...I believe it was Pointblank-Guns at Forest Nelson & Tamiama - Pointblank-Guns.com - Contact Us) advertising that they will be opening a range. Not sure if it will be an indoor or outdoor range.

Its hard to beat Babcock Web. 3 bucks and shoot at any range all day. Only thing is the range officers are not all that with it and not at every range while shooting. I have seen some idiots who know little about guns trying to teach others and pointing guns all over. You have to watch out for the stupid people and I am amazed that no one has been shot there.
