I'm open and honest, both in person and here. I try to share what I've learned and really appreciate it when others do the same. If I get a good listener---rare---I'll talk freely but otherwise I'll let others do the talking. If I have a strong opinion, though, I'll speak out. Like in miserable HOA situations!
In real life (as someone else said) people aren't interested in a wide variety of topics so I get that satisfied here. I have insatiable curiosity and get odd looks when I ask off-the-wall questions. So this is a good place for that. Criticizing people for their opinions or questions is a waste of time, online or off. IMO.
I'm one and the same, online or in person. Except that in real life, I don't go out of my way so much to confront people with bad attitudes and behavior, unless they pose a threat to public safety.
My forum personality very closely matches my real life personality. I have a bit more of a temper in real life than I let people see here, but I'm actually very transparent.
Apparently not. Because people online often find me to be too blunt. And rude when I am not meaning to be and it's the opposite IRL. I assume this is because I hate typing. And I'm not going to type 200 words when 10 will do. I have learned in certain groups to use more similes and XOXO and stuff like that to soften the unintentional bluntness or whatever it is that people are feeling about what I type.
Yep. I'm honest and straightforward and willing to lay things out the way they are rather than sugar coat 'em. Like someone said above, I don't suffer fools nor intentional ignorance gladly but will go out of my way to help someone who genuinely is trying to understand and learn.
I am the same. I am not snooty. Just plain, simple, direct, no filter.
