They franchised Saquon and paid Jones. I think they should have done the inverse personally speaking.

It certainly appears that, at least for the Giants, the RB is a very important position--even behind a terrible offensive line, the Giants need Barkley. Defenses respect Barkley.

The G-men are officially a dumpster fire.

https://nypost.com/2023/10/08/giants...getting-worse/

https://nypost.com/2023/10/08/sinkin...-expectations/

What the hell was Daniel Jones supposed to do about this? Here is another one to ponder: If Jones knew then what he knows now, would he have been so eager to re-up with a team and franchise that currently has no idea how to serve and protect its quarterback? There are so many issues sinking the Giants nowadays that singling out the pathetic support of Jones can be seen as lifting one rotten apple out of a barrel full of them. The whole darn operation is messed up and here we are, five weeks into a season that was supposed to be filled with promise and all the Giants have to show for themselves is that a case can be made that they are among the NFL dregs. In a league where the norm is often not normal and form can be formless, the Giants are shaping up to be one of the NFL’s most predictable outfits. They do what is expected of them and that is a rare trait in a team. They dutifully traveled to South Florida, spent time in the sun and heat at Hard Rock Stadium, gave up big play after big play to the frenzied Dolphins attack, got Jones battered and then hurt, packed up and returned home Sunday night with a 31-16 loss that might as well have been predetermined.

When the boo birds start going crazy, it's hard to shake it. Good thing Barkley took up for Jones. Not all his fault. Injuries are just piling up.

Saquon Barkley could not play, but he still wanted to throw a block for his quarterback. Video circulated following Sunday’s Giants loss in Miami that showed Barkley yelling at a fan, which is generally out of character for the star running back. According to Barkley, the fan was yelling at Daniel Jones, who had sustained a neck injury and was sitting in the medical tent on the sideline. “You have a fan just ‘motherf–king’ him. That just doesn’t sit well with me,” Barkley said after he was a limited participant in Thursday’s practice with an ankle injury. “He’s helpless. He can’t do nothing.”

Meanwhile, Taylor may be our qb for a while. He used to be good but injuries have derailed him throughout his career. Hopefully, he can stay upright and squeak out a victory.

https://nypost.com/2023/10/12/tyrod-...-bills-season/

The last time Tyrod Taylor played in Buffalo, he emerged as the long-awaited hero. He will return as both a longtime veteran and a long shot. Increasingly it appears as if Taylor will be behind center for Sunday night’s Giants game against the Bills, which would mark his first snaps at what is now called Highmark Stadium since Taylor was leading the Bills to their first playoff appearance in 17 years. Quarterback Daniel Jones did not practice again Thursday with a neck injury that was sustained Sunday. Head coach Brian Daboll did not rule out Jones, but the odds are against the starter being cleared to play in time. If Jones cannot go, Taylor would play in his first game in Buffalo since 2017, when he was in his third and what would be his last season as the Bills’ starter.

Last night I wish that last play would have been a QB push.

Well, we already know the Giants aren't exactly experts at running the "tush push".

Jesus, G-men needed this win.

https://nypost.com/2023/10/22/darren...ts-td-drought/

This is what it was supposed to look like all along for Darren Waller in a Giants uniform. When the Giants acquired the uber-talented tight end from the Las Vegas Raiders, visions of exactly what he did in Sunday’s 14-7 win over the Washington Commanders at MetLife Stadium danced in the heads of every Giants fan. Waller caught seven passes for 98 yards and his first touchdown on eight targets. And that touchdown was anything but garden variety. It not only was Waller’s first score in a Giants uniform and gave the Giants a 7-0 lead, it ended a seemingly endless touchdown-scoring drought that dated back four-plus games. It was the Giants’ first offensive touchdown since the third quarter of their Week 3 loss to the 49ers on Sept. 17, a span of 222 minutes, 42 seconds of game time.

Why did the Giants use all 3 time outs to help the Raiders score?

Daniel Jones is done for the year with an ACL injury. If the Giants were not discussing Caleb Williams or Drake Maye prior, they should be now since they will likely be picking very early. Jones contract has an out after 2024 and I don’t think he will ever be that dude.

IMHO, Jones gets another year to prove himself. On a short leash, of course. I dog pile on Jones plenty but he bought some time by getting into the playoffs last year. This year, the line has been atrocious and now he's lost for the rest of the year. I would be looking into Drake Maye, Bo Nix, Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels and JJ McCarthy, for sure.
