Former Coach Says Falcons Turned Their Back On Vick (http://phillysportsdaily.com/eagles/2011/09/17/reeves-falcons-turned-their-back-on-vick/ - broken link)
Quote:
“When Mike really needed them they turned their back on him in my opinion,” said Reeves. “They could have been a big supporter and they let him go. I think it could have been handled differently.
Dan is totally wrong on this one. Vick put Arthur Blank in a position that the only rational thing the Falcons could do was to wash their hands of Vick.
I thought it was a case of the world turning their backs on Ron Mexico-er... Michael Vick (sorry about that, my memory serves me right, my bad) and the world felt sorry for the Falcons for being stuck with him... then it was a miracle and the work of Tony Dungy that he got another shot with the Eagles.
Flashforward to Mr. GE, no... I don't think so. The media has been shoving the "Rematch" all up in our face... so why NOT talk about it?
Typical game for Vick last night, especially against a good team.....start out looking good, then look crappy, then get hurt.....and a cocky gesture to the fans on the way out for good measure (at least this one wasn't obscene though).
Vick is the most overrated athlete in the NFL. He is a great athlete but as far as playing a position like QB that requires very refined skills, he is not very good. He has like less than 10 300 yard passing in his entire career.
