Has anyone been in this new store and what did you think of it? I found it to be a nice store and location. The stores design was somewhat similiar to the one in the downtown area. However in this one there is a Sushi and a Gelato Bar. I don't know but I felt this location feels the need to compete with Whole Foods. I also found for a new store there were very few people shopping in it. The products in this store are what you find in many Safeways, but again more so this store is being marketed to what people feel is the typical Pearl Resident. I know for me many products that I need for dietary requirements are not to be found in this store, they were in the other. I wish the stores and businesses that open in the Pearl would begin to cater to a more varied population. In this economy they may find they are going to have to or they won't survive.

Wow...Couldn't wait to get home and add my 2 cents, or I should say 7 cents! I am a regular shopper and Safeway as I live literally one block away. I went to the Deli and bought a pound of Roast Beef and one pound of white american cheese. When we went to make sandwiches (the same day) I noticed a dark spot on the cheese and that it had expired one day earlier. My husband went back to exchange it and when they sliced a new pound there was a 7 cent difference in Safeway's favor....you would think after making us go through the hassle they would have comped the difference...no way...and my husband only had his debit card. Hope the bank charges them more than the 7 cent difference. I am tempted never to shop there again....Certainly will go elsewhere for my larger shopping. CHEAP!

I had no problem with the store or the merchandise. Building parking is very convenient and the store very clean.

Their deli recently prepared the food for a party I hosted, a couple of the guests didn't like mustard so pulled apart the sandwiches and would have seen any issues with the cheese. No one complained of any health issues. However, I never buy white American cheese. IMHO the stuff is icky straight from the processing plant.
