Hello,

I'm currently in the South and will be moving to Portland to work for the summer (mid june-mid sept, to be specific). The company I will be working for did have a website with rooms for rent and a means to get interns to room together, but I wasn't really feeling it. Now I have less than a month before the move, and I haven't found a place yet. I know, I know, how silly of me .

They're paying me well, so I was hoping to get a decent (and furnished) 1 bedroom place for the summer. I visited Portland once on business, so I know downtown is great, so I'd prefer to live there or somewhere else where there are a lot of 20 somethings to meet up with. I think I'd be fine with anything up to about $2500/mo

Any ideas for specific buildings or websites to look at? Thanks!

To the extent that there is a neighborhood of single 20 somethings the Pearl is the neighborhood. Your problem will be finding a 3-month furnished rental there. If you have a cushy budget look for firms that rent 'executive' apartments. Alternately you could look at airbnb, I recall two properties in NW on that site. You may have to settle for the likes of Residence Inn.

If you will be working at NIKE they have a very well attended Thirst Thursday on campus famous for its social scene.

I just wanted to reply and thank you for your response, Nell. I searched for "executive apartments" and finally found a suitable place that's a furnished condo rental for the timeframe I wanted. Wasn't even that expensive compared to what I was prepared to pay. Couldn't have asked for a better place, to be honest. Looking forward to being back in Portland!
