Does anyone know where to find a furnished apartment for rent in a good area of Portland? A friends suggested the North west but I'm opened for suggestions. We are planning to rent for a while (A year or less) before buying a house and would like to be situated in a good school district so we don't have to change the kids schools once we buy a house. Furnished is important because I don't want to buy furniture that might later not be a good fit for our new home. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Consider finding an apartment then renting the furniture if you can't find a furnished apartment you like. Alternatively buy mattresses and a bed frame then go to our abundance of used furniture resources, including Craig's list, to pick up what you need.

Also, check out estate sales particularly those in upper income neighborhoods.

I cannot find any furnished apartments that met your needs. I strongly suggest you look for an apartment in the school enrollment area that meets your needs and furnish it as I recommended earlier.

we had a small 3br corporate apt in NW (bethany) for 2months. we didn't pay for it since it was part of a relocation package, but if i remember correctly it was considerably higher than your price range. a 3bd that is unfurnished is listed at ~$1450/mo.

look at suiteamerica.com, they have lots of furnished rentals listed.

You can rent furniture. You can buy used furniture and then give it to the thrift store when you move.

You can furnish an apartment with really nice lawn furniture that you can use on the patio when you buy,

You are going to take a bed into your new house, so there is no reason to not purchase a good bed and linens. You will surely take a TV set when you move. Buy a small used dining room table off of craigslist and sit in $5 plastic garden chairs from BiMart.

I doubt that you are going to get a furnished apartment in a good area for your budgeted amount.
