As Meth use goes down, Heroin use goes up.

I agree. The Meth Freaks seem to be more into thefts also.

I don't know if meth use has gone down. There is a well established meth trail coming up from California, bringing meth from Mexico. However, the number of meth labs in Oregon has been greatly reduced due to controls on ingredients.

So, you are still at risk of being robbed by meth heads, but at least the house next door to you isn't going to blow up and spew poisonous air into the neighborhood, and poison the ground next to where you live.

Sounds like something out of the "breaking bad" series.

I think the best way to combat meth is education. It is so sad the way it can destroy lives. I think young people can understand the physical effects of long term use. The effect on the rest of the people around them is the cost most people never consider.

My socioeconomic demographic and location keep me away from drug users 99.9% of the time now.

I do remember when I wasn't so lucky.
