I didn't call the maker of this documentary a dope, I called the maker of another documentary a dope...was a sort of afterthought. I brought it up simply as an example of a documentary that was seriously overhyped (the man was a vegan who suddenly changed his diet to include red meat and fried foods...of course he's going to get sick). I'm simply saying the documentary could be overstating the problem as documentaries often do but if you say it isn't I'll have to defer to you as I have neither seen the documentary nor stepped foot in Portland.

Sorry Kyle, I missed where you went off topic.

Eating meat is more likely to improve health of a vegan.

In the past few years Oregon has restricted (some of) the chemicals needed to produce meth. Is this having an effect on the number of new users? With the drug having less sources of origination there should be less new users in theory.

It is terrible trying to get someone off of the stuff. The current crop of users wont just walk away from it because it is a little harder to get.

Yes. They are switching to Heroin.

I suspect the biggest effect is on allergy sufferers who now have to jump through hoops in order to breathe. I feel like an addict when I ask for a 15-count box of Claritin-D and am denied for being over my 30-day pseudoephedrine limit-which naturally only happens when there's a line behind me at the pharmacy.

The only time I've been called for jury duty was for a meth case. I wasn't selected so I don't know how it turned out but I was really surprised one of the jurors who was selected was someone whose home had been robbed by a meth addict.

It is more of an inconvenience when you need to replace a $300 car window because some Meth Freak wanted your $2.59 in Parking meter change.

That's easily avoided by doing what prudent urban dwellers do all over the world - don't leave anything visible inside your car.

I don't, but Eugene and Portland have a problem with the Parking Meters and the need for change. The Meth Freaks know that most cars have change hidden and even if they don't see it, they will take a window out if they are the bolder types. If it's locked most will pass it bye, but there are those who place no value on others property. For some reason Salem doesn't seem to have the problem although they have meters. Independence has no meters but car clouts are a regular thing.

I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen a broken car window due to theft in Portland. The only time it's ever happened to me personally I was in Hillsboro, and that was my fault. I left the camera on the seat by accident.
