Okay Portland. I've been asking all kinds of questions from you guys for months and you have all been VERY helpful!!! Now I have another.

We are moving to Portland and of course having trouble selling our current home. My job requires that we be up there SOON so we may need to find some temporary housing until our home in STL sells. Do any of you guys/gals have any rentals, friends who have rentals or suggestions? Of course I have been researching online but I would also like to not go broke waiting!

My wife and I are 34 professional CLEAN and respectfull. We have a 3 year old and two very home friendly cats.

Temporary housing means an apartment, since all the houses I've seen require a one year lease. Padmapper is recommended a lot for apartment hunting but I've never used it personally. Housing rentals (even with a one year lease) are extremely scarce and go very quickly, and I've heard that apartment rentals are also hard to find and go fast. The cat is probably going to make your search even more difficult, so you might want to consider leaving it with a friend or something temporarily. RentLizard.com (http://www.rentlizard.com/Search.aspx?SearchType=Q&City=portland&State=OR&Po stalCode=&ListingId=&PropertyId= - broken link) is another possibility for apartment hunting and of course there is always Craigslist. Good luck!

Contact the HR department of the company you're working for first. They maybe able to give you direction to something AND might even be able to get you a discount at those places.
