The claim from that poll that Tea Party members are 'better educated" lacks context. It must relate to business & management degrees, or other money-obsessed fields vs. science degrees that lead to a broader understanding of the world.

The typical right-wing CYA, make-a-buck, nature-owes-me-cheap-oil mentality is not borne out of higher education; it's a reptilian outlook.

There are too many Creationists, AGW deniers, NWO conspiracy theorists and other half-wits at Tea Party rallies for "better educated" to ring true. Misspelled, hand-written signs abound at those rallies. People who empathize with Sarah Palin cannot be well versed in the sciences. She's about as anti-knowledge as (ex) politicians come.

A good article was written on this topic last year: "Why Scientists Are Seldom Republicans" (TinyURL.com - shorten that long URL into a tiny URL)

Touche. That's probably what they mean by "better educated"...as in "Sarah Palin spending 6 years to finish her 4 year journalism degree".

Wow, looks like a bunch of elitists to me. Or are only rich and educated liberals elitist?

"Nearly 9 in 10 disapprove of the job Mr. Obama is doing over all"

I wonder what that 1 person is doing there? I would also like to know what this article considers "wealthy." I didn't see where it touched on that in the article.

Well, I finally figured out what tea BAGGERS want.

They want freeways and the court systems and parks and libraries and fire and police protection, etc., to appear by magic....what a bunch of lazy , UN-PATRIOTIC, blood -sucking scum....if they don't want to contribute to the "upkeep" of the U.S. they should be deported.

Talk about thinking they're ENTITLED !

I wonder where these anti-Americans were when we spent/are spending TRILLIONS on war, on the Iraqis !

Were they protesting the COSTLY war...bet not !

So they don't want to pay taxes...so why aren't THEY in Afghanistan fighting their own war???.......taxes support the military....seems they never mention that...

Educated my ass. I was watching the Tax Rally on C-SPAN and they had some fat, ignorant, hillbilly woman with a Southern twang speak at the event, she had absolutely no education and she is supposedly of the "big wigs" of this movement. She was spewing some of the most anti-intellectual, irrational BS I have ever heard.

Most of the stuff you quoted is paid for by state and local governments, not the federal government.

Plus, what's the status on those wars? It's funny many of the libs just ignore the wars are still going on... Plus, they aren't protesting the military, they are protesting the expansion of government. I'm not teabagger, and I don't watch Fixed News, but good luck with that reliance on government. Hope they do a good job babysitting for ya...

Kind of like watching C-Span and thinking you're getting a realistic perspective of an event. You'll NEVER hear a liberal spew any anti-intellectual, irrational BS. I'm certain of that...

Folks that paid into SS usually paid over the lifetime of their working careers (40+ years) and are not likely to live long enough to recoup every dime they put into the system as they cannot even collect until they are 65 years old.
