Nice words from the Russian president:

"The most important thing that distinguishes him from many other people -- I won't name anyone by name -- he's a thinker, he thinks when he speaks. "

Read: "Obama is a pushover. We, the Russian Government, will steamroll him with every ounce of our being."

Obama simply is a special, talented and brilliant man and leader. Haters of the world unite, they cannot and will not see this. He is repairing many of the nation's and world's ills, and all this despite negativity and resistance on the grandest scale. But he will prevail.

I get tremendous satisfaction from watching frothing baggers wail; those who are desperate for him to fail and go away in 2012. He will be a 2-term prez and it's a shame there is an 8 year limit on the office.

Some of us just get it, and some of us are just plain swimming upstream.........

Most reasonable people do acknowledge that Obama is a nice, intelligent man. But nice and intelligent does not equal support for his policies. And that includes the Russians. If you believe that Russia is a friend and an ally, then yes, you are indeed swimming upstream. You're not one of those that "gets it."

This brings to mind The Parable of the Snake which I now relate:

Once upon a time there was a serpent who was badly injured in a fight with another animal. It managed to slither away to safety but would have surely died if a benevolent man had not seen it suffering by the side of the road. The goodly man carefully wrapped the snake up and took it to his house, where he bestowed the kindest and gentlest care on the snake until it was healed and could return to the wild. Just as the man was releasing the serpent back into the grass, the ungrateful snake turned and bit him on the hand.

"What did you do that for?" cried the man, who knew that the bite of this particular snake was usually fatal. "Didn't I take care of you when no one else would?" (Didn't negotiate with you?)

The snake shrugged (no small feat for a snake!) and replied to the benevolent--and now doomed-- man, "What did you expect? You knew I was a snake when you picked me up."

Right on cue!

If the headline read "Obama snubs Russian President", you'd be screaming "Way to go Obama - real nice, doesn't even know how to treat a leader and respected ally!!!!"

You wingnuts really are clinically insane.
