No. I 'threw it out there' as a counterpoint to all of the Rightist talking points about how poorly the president is viewed by other world leaders.
It is just so fascinating to me how eagerly some Rightists are to embrace and take as Gospel any Op-Ed or Blog that denigrates the president, even those that merely hint at the perception that this country has somehow lost standing in the the world, meanwhile the actual positive words of an actual world leader are considered my 'typical leftist myopic viewpoints.'
Considering how unhappy y'all are about this perceived lack of standing, I would certainly think that you would be happy to discover that those feelings are not universal, but, alas no. It would appear that some would prefer to wallow in their perceptions, 'cause otherwise they might have to admit that they are...wrong.
Most reasonable people acknowledge that Barack Obama is a nice and intelligent guy. What difference does it make coming from another world leader? The true intent of your post was to imply that Obama holds some sort of status that other US leaders were not privy to, and judging from the link you posted, that contrast is inevitably tied to George W. Bush.
It's all one big facade. Russia had kind words for George W. Bush, and then they turn around and imply something different after Bush is gone. Barack Obama is not the Master Magician that you folks think he is. As I said earlier, he's but a bit player in a geopolitical farce the began the day the Cold War ended. That's it! Russia could give a damn about Barack Obama, just like they could give a damn about George Bush.

You are quite right. We should just nuke those #$%@! Ruskie basterds and end this whole geopolitical farce right now dadgumit. Nuke 'em I say! Nuke 'em now, while there still is a chance!
Obama simply is a special, talented and brilliant man and leader. Haters of the world unite, they cannot and will not see this. He is repairing many of the nation's and world's ills, and all this despite negativity and resistance on the grandest scale. But he will prevail.
I get tremendous satisfaction from watching frothing baggers wail; those who are desperate for him to fail and go away in 2012. He will be a 2-term prez and it's a shame there is an 8 year limit on the office.
Some of us just get it, and some of us are just plain swimming upstream.........
I have bad news for you...by 2012...the Dem. party will a shadow of its self
Whatever happened to those "Kennedy" Democrats......Listen to a Kennedy speech...He sounds like a Conservative.
Obama on the other hand sounds like a early 1900's progressive.
Hah!, The right blathers their make-believe nonsense that Obama is losing the US respect abroad *belly laughs* and then when foreign heads of state or dignitaries praise him they try their best to spin it.
Someday you're going to get over having lost the election. Come to the light, Carol Ann...

You're going to be in for a rude awakening. The GOP will take some seats but they we not take either house. And you better pray that Obama's approval rating doesn't hang around or go above 50 by 2012.
