I've never understood why the Advantage Plan gets more reimbursement from the federal government than does people with basic Medicare. The free preventive care is worth it alone for seniors who don't need prescription drugs.

Clip:
The final version of a massive health care reform package would help seniors with prescription drug costs, offer free preventive care under Medicare, provide incentives to companies to offer insurance for early retirees and ban limits on lifetime health care coverage.

I believe some of the Advantaged plans cover some things that straight Medicare doesn't like some pieces of Durable Medical equipment.

Remember it also eliminates the need for a supplemental policy, which AARP makes good money by selling their name as endorsement to certain insurance companies.

AARP, like the AMA, are getting big bucks for their support. Selling out the elderly is really shameful of AARP.

The honest ones are the ones who put their membership ahead of some $$ in their coffiers.

I wouldn't know about "republican organizations". I never stated anything about party affiliation. Why did you? Didn't have anything of substance to offer?

Not the complete issue. Not who they side with as much as it means to them to generate profit.

It's funny those who are all gung ho for this will be whining about the obsecene profits that the medical establishment will be making as a result of this. The limited view of some people I consider fairly smart is shocking.
