I'll start...unless somebody types faster than I am
Since Obama can 'buy' votes.....Oh, I mean....can be so persuasive ( as proved by his Fox interview....do you really think he won't convince enough undecideds to get this 'thing' passed?
Doesn't matter how much we yell and scream here on CD,
it influences not one vote and we can't promise those recalcitrant Dems a damn thing
Agree that it will pass. He has far too much invested in terms of time, energy and political standing for it to fail. He will use any and all means to persuade reluctant Dems to vote yes...and they will. It's a done deal as far as I'm concerned.
The only question at this point is whether they go with a straight vote, or use the Slaughter Solution. My money is on the straight vote.
they have the votes now and in typical weasel- like fashion they will pass it on a sunday night.
we should be more like iceland, where they go to the politician's homes and stand on their lawns. that might actually attract their attention, because reasoning, begging, pleading, or actually asking them to represent us sure doesn't work.

As a former poster child for socialism, and quite aware of the twisted wisdom in being a beneficiary rather than the donor, I can safely predict that once "universal" coverage is enacted, the health care system will implode.
Anyone who can establish that they are "eligible" will milk the "cow" dry. There will be no restraint upon misuse, abuse, and over use of the "benefit". There will be long delays, rationing, triage, and discrimination against those who would "consume more than their fair share" of medical care. And if you fall between the cracks - tough. There will be no recourse.
Haven't you been watching TV ads about lawyers offering their services to help those who were DENIED their Socialist InSecurity benefits. And you should be aware that those who apply are facing ever longer delays in processing.
Wait till you have to hire a lawyer to get your "fair share" of "universal" health care...

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Congressional budget scorekeepers say a Medicare fix that Democrats included in earlier versions of their health care bill would push it into the red.
The Congressional Budget Office said Friday that rolling back a programmed cut in Medicare fees to doctors would cost $208 billion over 10 years. If added back to the health care overhaul bill, it would wipe out all the deficit reduction, leaving the legislation $59 billion in the red.
What's going on? If the votes were there, why is the Hag trying to make a deal with Stupak?

Cong DeGette just spoke to reporters following a meeting w the Speaker and pro choice women.
There is a plan to do a concurrent resolution to take the Senate bill, strike the Nelson language on abortion, and insert the Stupak language on abortion.
This does not make pro-choice women happy at all.
DeGette says pro choice women (40 of them) will not support this move, "We are holding firm this time."
March 19 (Bloomberg) -- House Democratic leaders worked to defuse an 11th-hour rebellion by more than a dozen lawmakers angry that hard-fought increases in Medicare reimbursements for local hospitals were removed from health-care legislation.
The lawmakers’ concern arose after House leaders released the latest version of legislation to overhaul the U.S. health- care system. House leaders are pushing for a March 21 vote on changes to Senate-passed legislation. Left unchanged is Senate language that these lawmakers say won’t go far enough to ease geographic disparities in Medicare reimbursements.
Can we hope for some divine intervention, the kind we had in MASS?
Oh, and I guess the House is demanding a letter from the Senate, with ALL 51 signatures that will vote on reconciliation, before the House dems put their necks on the line again.
