You talk about 'rights', and demand other respect you, but you have absolutely no 'right' to demand how others think, act or feel. Homosexuality is, by definition, a perversion of nature. People do not like to be forced to accept or witness perverse behavior. They do not want their children to be forced to accept perversion as a normal, natural, nurturing, loving act...because it is not.
If homosexuality is such a "peversion of nature" can you please explain to me homosexual tendencies in the animal world?

As an American, I think you'd be more comfortable in a totalitarian state. Or you can stay home with your blinds drawn. If you're out in public, you're going to witness a lot of "perverse and ignorant behavior." That's called freedom.

If I was such a fan of a totalitarian state wouldn't I be calling for someone or something to put an end to that behavior (like canceling prom)? Did I do any such thing?

It absolutely has the right to spout off its ignorant perversions, and I have the right to ignore them. A right I am exercising.

Nice try and thanks for playing, run along now

If animals act on their primal instinct to replicate even though they are brainless as to what differentiates gender, then it's ok for humans with brains to emulate their behavior? Holy smokes man...that's just whack!!!!

O.K., I stand corrected....you're an animal.

animals have brains, they have social structures within their species. they communicate. some never attempt to mate with the same sex. Some do. Some even change sex depending on what's on offer....

YOU claimed it was "unnatural" if it is so unnatural why does it happen naturally within the animal kingdom?

Ha Ha Ha

Oh boy

You don't know that humans are animals.

Even better is the irony that you are too stupid to know that animals have brains.

Priceless. Thanks for the laugh. You're such a ****in' joke.

You can think (well, obviously in very broad sense of the word) or feel however you like, and nobody really cares. But when your actions - as in this case - are basically those of a minor authority pettily enforcing a useless conformity, damn straight people have a right to demand they change. Actions affect other people.

Good on the girls standing up for themselves. One sees bigger things in their future than being on the board of a Mississippi high school.

Wow, they actually have an enforced requirement that prom dates be of the opposite sex! I spent my high school days in So. Cal and me and my girlfriends pulled up to homecoming in a limo (with no boys) decked out in suits. All female entourage. No problems. While I think the school was out of place, I wonder if the girls made a big deal of it before it even happened. They should have just showed up in their tux's and see what would transpire and then invoke the media ruckus.

After thinking about it for a while, I have to agree with you...to an extent we are animals with the ability to reason. For some it's a choice, others not. I think we are all equal regardless of sexual preference, but don't agree with your percieved rights to display of homosexuality in specific environments that we share (Catholic church or school, for example). That said, I do understand your frustation a little better, however I think some of this isn't based on bigotry as much as long established moral values. Maybe there isn't a difference.
One thing I know for certain: I'd rather see people (all people) loving each other rather than hating one another.
