Despite all the progress and improvements we’ve made, Republicans in Congress insist that the only acceptable course on health care is to start over. But you know what? The insurance companies aren’t starting over. I just met with some of them on Thursday and they couldn’t give me a straight answer as to why they keep arbitrarily and massively raising premiums – by as much as 60% in states like Illinois. If we do not act, they will continue to do this. They will continue to drop people’s coverage when they need it. They will continue to refuse coverage based on pre-existing conditions. These practices will continue.
Progress? Improvements? The bill should be torn up and buried somewhere where it can never resurface!

Why should insurance companies accept pre-existing conditions with no increase in premium? They are taking a huge risk, and with pre-existing conditions, they know they are going to be paying!

"If we do not act..." Same old saw. We must act now... Or, what, Mr. President, sir? Doom?

Insurance companies have a right to make a profit, and they do not make much. They pay out huge amounts. It's a myth that they make obscene profits.

...I know it has been a long and hard road to this point. And we are not finished with our journey just yet. But we are close. We are very close. And so I ask Congress to finish its work. I ask them to give the American people an up or down vote. And let’s show our citizens that it’s still possible for Washington to look out for their interests and their future.
Mr. President, sir, Obama, if you were looking out for our interests you would scrap this plan, because you know full well that nobody wants it!

But we know that you have to have it, because it gives the government control over every aspect of our lives.

This is nothing more than a power grab. It will opress, and it will destroy liberty forever, if it is implemented. It is a full blown disaster, Mr. President. You know it, and we know it. We cannot afford it.

The jobs of tomorrow will be jobs in the clean energy sector, and this company is a great emblem for that. That's why my administration is taking steps to support a thriving clean energy industry across this country -- an industry that's making solar panels, and building wind turbines, producing cutting-edge batteries for fuel-efficient cars and trucks, and helping consumers get more control over their energy bills.
Obama on the campaign trail, "Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket". Is that what you call "getting control of our energy bills"?

Wind mills have not proven to be a viable alternative. They are noisy, and nobody wants them around. I think they are spooky looking, and the constant "wooosh, wooosh, wooosh" sound is annoying. In Hawaii, I read there is a whole "wind farm" that is deteriorating, is not being used, and the windmills are leaking fluids into the soil.

A better alternative is nuclear power, which we are promoting to the rest of the world, but we do not allow new plants to be built in the U.S.A. What kind of logic is that?

Coal is plentyfull, and coal plants are not poluting like they once were.

And that's also why earlier this week I urged Congress to enact a new initiative we're calling Homestar that would offer homeowners rebates for making their homes more energy-efficient -- rebates worth up to $1,500 for individual home upgrades and up to $3,000 for retrofitting their entire home. So if they're getting this good information from OPOWER and they see that, boy, that drafty window is costing me a couple of hundred bucks a year, they're now going to have an incentive to go to Home Depots or go to Lowes to hire a certified contractor and make the changes that will ultimately pay for themselves, improve our environment, and improve our economy.
So here we are again with another giveaway program, "Homestar", which we cannot afford! Oh, that's right. He'll tax the rich even more and give their money to others to retrofit their homes.

That isn't the America I grew up in Mr. President, SIR. It is theft. It is socialism. People have no right to the fruit of someone elses labor.

And why is he promoting Home Depot and Lowes? The President singling out two companies, and promoting them?

What the hell is OPOWER?

This is a man who lies every time he opens his mouth. He cannot be trusted, and he is destroying the country.

Wake up, America. Tell your Congressmen and Senators to stop this. Tell them you do not want any of this B. S.!
