I'm reminded by the quote from I believe from the Jewish Talmud that says,
"We do not see the world as it is. We see the world as we are."
I sense this is a natural human phenomena indicative to all people, but I was actually doing this for other reasons. I was recently in a discussion about peoples seeming inability to place themselves into others shoes so to speak. To determine how much a person can take a given subject in which they may rail against others for doing but when it applies to them, rationalize it in such a way as to be acceptable in their own minds. As another poster pointed out, the comparison may not have been of equal measure, I wasn't looking for apples to apples.
