Wait until the federal census starts around April, there are about 800,000 jobs to had right there. Then 0bama and his wingnutz will claim his policies just made a one point drop in unemployment.
While at the same time continuing to whine and cry because Bush has unemployment numbers around 5% for most of hist erm..

"his policies"?
Ever consider reading the Constitution? Which mandates the Census?
Or perhaps you have some genius plan that will count over 300,000,000 people without hiring anyone?
Not only that - they're now worried about giving easy citizenship, a massive amnesty to tens of millions of illegals AND telling them they can start inviting in their long lost relatives. This amnesty is sure to bring in at least 100 million people in a very short time and only 5 million jobs were promised.
Yeah great thing to do now isn't it. This is all we need!

Hardly. While it is true the Census Bureau will hire several hundred thousand individuals, enumerator jobs only last 8-10 weeks. I may offer temporary relief, but if hiring in the private sector has not picked up by that time those many will be right back into the unemployed population.
Either way, those temporary jobs are included in the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate, same as holiday jobs, and same as summer jobs.

The above goes to show the desperately overblown claims that insincere types are not just willing, but anxious to make on the basis of the merest and flimsiest of evidence. Weekly UI filings in December say nothing at all about what effect the stimulus has had since February, as will easily be shown by your claim that these numbers mean nothing at all should they decline to levels lower than expected next week...
PS. Did your article mention that the four-week moving average of new UI claims DECLINED again?
Yep. Only a half a million more without jobs, that is less than a full million, but I am sure they feel the pain. I just don't get it how you see this as a plus. If Busy were still at the wheel you know the media would be screaming into the night about all the unemployed people and numbers not really getting any better.
