Exactly, after all, if the research in question is simply a "small part" of the evidence shown to be in question, then they should be able to remove it and build from scratch their case.

There is a problem, they can't because the evidence in question is like a cancer that has grown into all of the other research. Remove it, and you essentially destroy the position concerning that other research.

They know it, which is why they do not specifically show such and point out that it is unrelated specifically. We know it because every time they attempt to claim "additional" evidence, we simply pull away the curtain and show it is using related evidence.

So, the end result is that they will swim in politics and deceit and rely on the ignorance of the public and fanatics to push their position.

Salem Witch Trials were no different. Funny how no matter how much time passes, some things always remain the same.
