I have heard this before. Of course what I heard is that the former West Germans are sick of having to financially prop up their former East German brothers.
I have also heard South Koreans who do not want their country to be reunified with North Korea for this very reason.
Well iof you do survey you might find that many people on ON A SURVEY would want thier stae to leave the union. Surveys have a habit of showing people fustration to shock officals actually.
In statistics a survey sample of 1,000 is a pretty well accepted size for a poll even in a country such as the U.S. with 300,000,000.

As the other poster said, besides the millions murdered under communist rule, how about the strict enforcement of the wall through "shoot to kill",...how about them living day in and day out in constant fear of an invasion from the Soviet Union who, at the time, had already done so in many parts of eastern Europe.
