Poll ratings for a cable network will be high if all people with a "unique orientation" flock to it for most part when it serves the purpose of "we will tell you what you want to hear".

It cannot help in the bigger picture, however. In fact, it has been eating away any credibility that is left of the republicans.

There are countless reasons, policies, and positions one can be critical of Obama for, but when we use such extreme means to do so, it also detracts from reasonable criticism because reasoned criticism gets buried amid the crazy. Once the extreme examples are made to look stupid and foolish as they often are, then the entire argument is made to look a little less credible.
I got to the part about Obama/Hitler depictions.... and had to stop and ask...

Did you feel the same when GWB was depicted as Hitler?

Were you outraged when he was hung and or burned in effigy?

Because that happened....

Were you outraged when his killing was called for? When a movie was made with his assassination?

Because if not then you get a 15 yard penalty for hypocrisy.

There hasn’t been a single thing said about Obama that is materially different than what the left said about GWB with the exception of the Birther stuff that is just silly…. And also started by a Hillary Clinton supporter…

If you want to refute some of the things that have been said fine. Let’s have at it. But if you are going to go down the road that all these people are just insane, you have to look to all the people who now support Obama and are outraged at what the right has called him, but who were saying materially the same things about GWB.

Do you want a full review? Cuz that aint gonna look too good for that side.

Why do we all the sudden need to be nice? Why does my side have to shut our mouths and not defend what we believe in? The other side sure didn’t when GWB was president.

Please note, when our side marches in protest, we clean up behind ourselves, no one gets arrested and no businesses get vandalized.

When the left protests, there are massive arrests and vandalism is rampant, and the place is left looking like a war zone.

The only way you can find this interesting is if you don’t know a blessed thing about fox news.

First lf all, the only people saying fox news is a republican anything is Barak Obama and his minions.

Secondly the Republican Party has lost the conservatives. That is why the party has such low opinion right now.

McCain lost because he decided to move towards the right, the country liked Obama, and was fed up with 8 horrid years of a Republican President. When the sitting President of your Party has ratings in the 20's it is pretty hard for your Party to win, especially when you run Towards the guy instead of away from him. If McCain ran as the old McCain (circa 2000) he would have still lost, but it would have likely been closer. Not to mention McCain is hardly a liberal....

The GOP isn't in the shape they are in because of the handful of moderate to liberal candidates they run (which is few and far between). They are in the trouble they are in because a large part of the old base of the Party (the Rockefeller type Republicans) simply can't stomach the Evangelicalism and southern take over of the party anymore. I live in the heart of what was the old school GOP base, its gone.

Fox News was the number one rated cable news channel during last years elections and it led to Obama crushing John McCain with the largest popular vote margin in 20 years. It coincided with several states voting for the Democratic candidate which have been solidly Republican for decades (Indiana, North Carolina, Virginia). It coincided with the Voters slapping the Republicans back and forth across the House of Representatives leading to a 20+ seat Democratic pickup. Fox News prominence coincided with Al Franken winning in Minnesota! AL FRANKEN!

"Fox News: We Report, You end up voting Democrat because of our BS"

I could care less, in fact I could give a damn what side does what, who cleaned up after a protest march, I wouldn't be caught dead wearing the label Republican or Democrat today.

Its extreme and wrong and it was extreme and wrong when Bush was depicted in such a manner as well, because... its wrong. In the case of Fox however, they promoted such events and promulgated this type of extremist behavior and the examples of them doing this kind of thing are endless.

Even still, I say Fox, go right on ahead and do what you do as they have every right, just as many people have a right to look at Fox and say... what a bunch of kooks, loony, whacka doodle doo's.

The OP is pointing out that Fox isn't helping the GOP stay electable by what many see as a rather extreme angle and point of view it depicts in its broadcast. Personally I wish there was an actual Conservative oriented news outlet on TV to offer balance and perspective, but what Fox has become is nest of nuts. I'll be the first to pass the hat to help support a network like Link TV (a liberal pov) but in a Conservative format like The American Conservative Magazine

I for one am tired of the Keith Olbermans and Glenn Becks as they are feeders of the fringe.

I'm a Reagan Republican or an "Arizona Republican." I believe in fiscal conservative policy, aggressive military action and defense of our country, less government intervention and personal responsibility. However, I don't care if gays want to marry each other. I don't think Obama is a socialist, racist, Muslim or a communist. I don't care if a woman wants to get an abortion, that's her business not mine. I believe the Republican Party has recognized it has lost many supporters ie Reagan Democrats and is trying to win them back by moving away from these weaknesses associated with the party (Evangelicals and Crazies). I know there are many Democrats who would vote Republican and share my beliefs but refuse to do so because of the Evangelicals and the Crazies that are associated with the party. The Evangelicals hijacked the party in the mid-90's during Clinton's Presidency. We need to take it back

hard to believe you are a conservative. I could sware you sound like a liberal.

You sure youare not talking about CNN? CNN is now the lowest rated cable news channel as FOX NEWS which is almost equally split between Rebublican, Democrat and Independent viewers continues to grow blowing away all their cometition.

All those people are gravitating to FOX NEWS because all the liberal news sound like the Propaganda Ministry of a Fascist/Communist/Socialist hussein obama regime.

Did I mention that CNN is now the lowest rated cable news channel?
