Have you ever seen a large government program that DIDN'T start running out of money?
When it does, what will be the government's response? Keep in mind that, by then, most private health care providers will have gone out of business, unable to compete with taxpayer-subsidized Govt health care and still keep up with malpractice insurance (even those who have never had a claim), etc.
Insurance companies make a killing. This government option is going to be free. There is still going to be premiums just like any other health insurance. If the cost of the program goes up then premiums can be increased to keep up with cost.
But, of course, you didnt want to include a logical option in your poll.

So, people will have a choice between paying higher and higher premiums, or going to the "free" (ha) Government Option?
Obviously, most if not all will go to the Govt Option.
How will the Insurance Companies "make a killing" (or even survive) when no one is left to pay their increasing premiums?

I included many logical options. Just didn't want to include a blindly silly one like the one you mentioned. Who can blame me?

Logically, insurance companies make a killing is a present-tense statement. They probably won't make a killing in the future. But they can survive and even thrive by providing premium services in exchange for the premiums they collect. That would be the beauty of the two-payer system, versus the single-payer system.
Also, it seems that Obama's plan is to run the public option the Walton way. Using quantity to control costs. So even if more people sign on to the public options, that simply increases the power to control costs. The public sector can increase the number of doctors and facilities by increasing compensation levels when that is necessary. The availability of private options in the market introduces a tension in the market that assures some people of the premium care they desire, while keeping a measure of affordability in the market for the majority of people.
It should be noted that the people who will be most negatively affected will be the rural segments of our population. One of the things these town meetings should be discussing are innovative ways to fund hospitals and to attract doctors to rural areas.
And THIS is why we're on the path we're on. People actually believe this garbage.
There's a significant percentage of our population that pay nothing in federal taxes. For them, it will be free. And yes, that's exactly why we're on the path we're on - they'll just keep voting themselves more and more freebies.
That's why you should earn the right to vote by paying taxes.
Interesting idea. But the "one man, one vote" idea has been sacrosanct in this country for centuries, and I can't see changing it over trivialities like upset Democrats.

Can you explain your "logical" option a little more?
How do you increase the premiums of something that is free?
Here's a hint, its not going to be free, at least for the non-leech citizens who work hard. They will be footing the bill through higher taxes.
