But you never seem to be able to muster up the courage to blame or give credit for Clinton's misdeeds while in office. These policies sometimes take years to gain a foothold in the economy. The Free Trade Act was a Clinton policy and Bush stood by and watched the circus as he himself is a "globalist." We really need to get past the blame game folks and study the unintended consequences of these actions.

The presidents didn't push it out there, I don't like Bush Jr. for many reasons but this is not one I can see (I did like Bush Sr). We the people pushed China to be a superpower by voting with our money...we wanted cheap junky goods so we could buy more stuff instead of better stuff.

C;inotn definely stoodby not wanting to ruin the wall street game that gave massive revenues to teh federal governmnet. They all basically know that anyhtig they do can backfire into stopping a growing economy hwne its in palce and often not do any good really. But Bush definely did not do any more for china than any other president in recent times nor than Obama is doing now. Bascailly more has been done to keep sending money in the form of energy by stopping energy production by the environmentalist in the democrartic seantors and congressamn. Plus environamntal groups in states. That is why we are ever increasingly dependent on foreign sources. That is compounded by the fact that the real growing demand is in countries like chian and india that is inceasing at a ten per cent rate per year.It will be more so in the future as china still has 5% growth in this world crisis. They have a excess of savings and are now turning to investing in future energy and comodies to fuel that by investing in companies that control them.If we have growth in the future it will be fueled by energy more and more by foreign product until alterantive can make a meaningful difference at a reasonable price far in the future.

Plus, don't forget Bush LOVED NAFTA, him and his buddy Fox were the biggest backers. Seems some here should do some research before trying to use NAFTA as an example of the Demos doing the same thing, they Both backed it.

Better rethink your revisionist history. The genesis of outsourcing came about way before Bush. Your blame Bush game doesn't wash here. SOrry.

From my understanding, outsourcing started to really get moving right after WWII. I guess most folks here are too young to remember the stickers on the bottom of goods that read "Made in Occupied Japan." If the Wiki biography is accurate, Bush MKII would have been an infant at that time. Regan was still in Hollywood, and Bush I was busy making little Bushes.

If we were to blame outsourcing on whoever happened to be in office at the time, wouldn't that make Eisenhower the responsible party? I think not.

The fact is that outsourcing is not the fault of any President ever. It's our fault. We keep buying overseas stuff. If we simply bought locally, (and yes we'd pay a little more) companies wouldn't be shipping jobs overseas. I suppose it's easier to point the finger at someone else though.

I thought Boooosh did that?

It was Boooosh that sent all our jobs to Mexico, right? It sounds like something Cheney and Big Oil were after.

Ok, just kidding.

I remember a buddy of mine was in business selling large industrial equipment units and shortly after NAFTA passed he had several fantastic banner years selling/exporting equipment ot Mehico. The only problem is these units were used to construct large factories.

Feel free to blame Bush for anything he actually did. Being alive and living on the same planet doean't make Bush responsible for the creation of Fannie (FDR), the CRA (JEC), NAFTA, expanding CRA and ending Glass-Steigal (WJC). It also doesn't make him responsible for Democrats resisteing his and Senator McCain's efforts to reform OFHEO going back to 2001 and even threatening a filibuster of S.190.

Sorry, Folks, The CRA Really Did Require Crap Lending Standards
