Seriously. I'm so tired of right wingers screaming like little schoolgirls at a Beatles concert for their favorite politician. And I'm so tired of right wingers taking everything their leaders say as gospel and calling anyone that dares to think differently childish names like "teabaggers". And I'm so tired of all the right wingers that are standing up to a government that's trying to take over industries. And I'm so tired of the right wing that now is so insecure that it's asking it's constituents to report anything that doesn't jive with their rhetoric to the white house.

Pretty much everything on terrestrial radio is losing money these days. We are seeing a trend from Arbitron (ratings/data gathering) that suggests that more poor people listen to the radio than ever before because this group generally doesn't have IPods, or a vast CD collection. The problem with this trend is that poor people are less likely to actually purchase the products that the advertisers are selling.
To answer your question, yes, stations and radio conglomerates are tired of losing money. AM right wing talk radio is not going away, but the demographic and psychographic trends suggest that it will slowly die.

The concluding paragraph really encapsulates part of the reason that there has been such a knee-jerk reaction to President Obama's election: people can see that our country is changing, and that makes them fearful. We can only hope that, as time passes, people will see Americans from all demographic groups working together and living together successfully. No society can remain static; ours is changing, and the November election illustrated that clearly. Hopefully the day is approaching when people understand that bigotry is not a characteristic that is considered desirable.

Not asking whether it's popular or not. I'm asking if the stations are tired of losing money on it. We know that Limbaugh has not made money for clear channel for a long time. Question is are the rest of the right wing talkers losing money. If so how long are the stations going to write them off.
What makes money are the ads, so Rush continues making money just the same, since these ads are played nationwide. Also, adds are played mostly during the most popular shows to get the most people to listen. Since Rush has the largest audience in the nation, a lot of ads are played during the airing of his show. In fact, so many adds get on my nerves sometimes. Not only national, but local ads are played

All radio is becoming less and less listened to. Why bother turning it on? I hate commercials, I will pay to avoid them, which is why I listen to Pandora radio, have an MP3 player, use cd's in my car, and do not have my tv hooked up to cable at all, we just buy dvd's to watch.
