Must be nice to be a politician these days. Both sides need to all be canned and bring in some fresh people.

Scientists have the expertise, not lawmakers.
None of those trips were warranted. The US has no legal authority over other countries.

Really? And just who can we trust to enact 'change'? Lets face it - politicians have an enormous sense of entitlement and elitism (not intellectual sadly, rather elitism in that there are rules for the them and then there are rules for hoi polloi)

2010 isn't going to change that - an 'R' in front of someones name isn't going to change the culture of political corruption we currently have. I am disgusted by them all - Rs and Ds alike. They are all parasites ready and willing to feed on the public.

This story is a good example of that and of how they (the politicians) have successfully polarized Americans. A few years ago the Dems would be yelling about this with the Reps silent, and now that a Dem is in charge it is the opposite. We are all clearly f'd as long as we allow our leaders to manipulate us in this way and refuse to hold anyone on 'our side' accountable.

I guess reading reports from the scientists involved just isn't believable unless they can see it for themselves
"Mr. Baird, a certified scuba diver, said he went on two shallow reef dives with scientists. Rep. Loretta Sanchez, a California Democrat, said she preferred to snorkel"
