If you truly want universal health care, you need to decriminalize the giving of care, decriminalize the purchase of medicine and medical machinery, expand medical training and education, and eliminate tort liability by "Satisfaction guaranteed or your money back."

In short, get government entirely OUT of the health care system. And eliminate the need for "insurance" (usurers) from skimming a hefty profit from monies that should have gone to pay medical expenses.

And while we're at it - stop taking tax money to give to care givers.
Just stop taking taxes from care givers who do not charge their patients.

Of course, such a reform will never happen, because no government willingly surrenders its power, nor its revenue.

I will NEVER accept government controlled / run Universal Health Care.

Again, I would / will never accept it, use it, pay for it.

for those of you that dont support it now, what would make you reconsider?
To anwer the question, "at what point would you support universal healthcare"? The answer is when the person no longer has healthcare coverage due to unemployment or pre-existing conditions, or when the person has excessive medical bills that are driving them (or their loved ones) to bankruptcy, after they have lost everything; basically after THEY PERSONALLY experience suffering.

You will be surprised how many people's eyes will open up - magically. Until then, the heart and the mind will remain shut to the idea of UHC and the suffering of others. Some people cannot understand suffering until they personally suffer.

I have argued for and supported the concept of a government based Universal Health Care system for over 50 years.

Rationing health care to only people that can afford it is simply a despicable way to operate a society or a country. It is morally and ethically WRONG.

UHC is trading a partial monopoly for a complete monopoly. And everything the govt runs sucks *ss and/or runs poorly and inefficiently.

19% of the people living here are uninsured. 43 million divided by 350 million plus 21 million illegals divided by 350 million = 19 %. i think we need it. the question is can we afford it.
