President Obama's pick to be the Army's top lawyer withdrew after failing to disclose Fannie Mae as his former employer in a document submitted as part of his nomination process.

Donald Remy caught heat from the Senate Armed Services Committee for not disclosing his ties to the troubled mortgage giant, instead describing his tenure at Fannie Mae as a 'major U.S. company.'

Since that information was 'out there', including his fanny mae work, nothing was being hidden,
Latham & Watkins LLP - Attorney Biography (http://www.lw.com/Attorneys.aspx?page=AttorneyBio&attno=04313 - broken link)
it really does not seem that big of deal.

It was also a bio, not a resume. They had full documentation on his work history, but McCain (R) & Martinez (R) either 'forgot' they had it or didn't bother to read it. How convenient.

Just more "I didn't care before, but right now i really do care, since I can say "Obama", and act suddenly outraged".

It's going to be pretty boring 4 years, if thats going to be the bulk of the conversations.

He had mentioned, by name, other companies for which he has worked on his work history provided to the committee.

Remy called the omission a 'mistake' in a written response to Senate follow-up questions after his confirmation hearing in February.
Yeah sure he "forgot" to mention it.lol.
If it isn't such a big deal (as you say..again lol), why withdraw?
Obama needs to vett his choices better and stop sending us the same old corrupt lackies, hoping they don't get found out.

Get over your blatent Obama worship, some of us actually prefer competent, honest people in government. You?

It wasn't a resume or a interview question, it was a bio.
(I get bio's from people all the time, sometimes they have great detail, sometimes they skate over things that they feel are not relevant. Many of the people who i've interviewed have sent different bio's at different times with different information. Politicians, Lawyers, Buissnes people, anybody and everybody. Nothing corupt. No laws broken.)

What was "to get found out" about. It was all in other documentation that they had. It was all for show.

After 10 elections, i've yet to see one elected.

No competent person will run, since it's not worth the hassle of dealing with those who examine every word, looking for some exploitable phrase.

You need to remember, those in government are a reflection of us. So what they are, we are. (of course your not, you are the only exception)

In April, when the hearing took place - no one cared. I didn't see outrage. Nothing till he turned it down.
They didn't reject him. He rejected them.

Of course instead of a competent lawyer for the army, we will get someone who is not qualified, just to meet political whims.

Find something worthwhile, and I will join in...........but not the "Obama this, Obama that" BS.

Referring to one's employer as "a major US company" is a term often used to be discreet. One would think that employment at Fannie Mae would be a matter of public record, easy for anyone to find.

Easy, for anyone except, a couple of Republican Senators and FoxNews.
