The South Pacific island nation of Palau has agreed to "temporarily resettle" the 17 Uighurs, or Chinese Muslims, currently being held at Guantanamo Bay.

Two U.S. officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to the Associated Press, said the U.S. was prepared to give Palau up to $200 million in development, budget support and other assistance in return for accepting the Uighurs and as part of a mutual defense and cooperation treaty that is due to be renegotiated this year.

By the way do you know anything about Uighur or Uighur Muslims? Why do I doubt it?

Am I the only one that finds it slightly ironic that they still have very little freedom? I suppose an ocean fence is better than a chain-link fence.

According to your liberal cohorts these detainees were never a terrorist threat, so using that philosophy, shouldn't they have been set free pretty much anywhere?

So pressure on there for the tiny island of Palau....but maybe a small price to pay for the huge price WE as taxpayers will divvy up for their taking them....a cool 200 million $$$. Out of sight, out of mind....so hopes Scumbag in Chief.
