If you think all the bailouts so far are expensive, wait until Congress passes this baby called the "Homeowners Defense Act". In reality it doesn't "defend" any home. What it does do is what the National Flood Insurance does but on a scale of about 1000 times as big. It puts the burden of rebuilding homes in high risk areas of the country- such as Florida and California on the backs of American taxpayers. So instead of State Farm and Geico paying for damages from hurricanes and earthquakes, you and me will be paying for them! If they are going to do this, I think the Federal Government should pay my homeowner insurance too. And my health insurance. And even my car insurance! Why not?
