Does Sarah Palin deserve an apology -- no, as it would only encourage her to run again. Besides, you run for vpotus you had damn well better be prepared for mud to be thrown.

Now I do believe that Bristol Palin is owed an apology by everyone (pundit, newsite) that demeaned her and her dragged her through the mud. She is not a politician, she is a minor child and didn't deserve the crap she recieved. I mean, even Rush Limbaugh apologized for the one negative thing he said about Chelsea Clinton, as did Mccain and even SNL.

That will probably be Bush's legacy - The Education President.

It's amazing how much smarter America got while he was in office for eight years.

President Obama is the result of that education, and I doubt they will forget Bush's lessons quickly.

Witch doctor preacher vs racist, conspiracy theorist preacher.

Which is worse? Well...probably the one that was preaching to the person currently in charge of the US the last 20 years?

Yeah because we've all seen the videos showing how smart Obama voters are.

I bet a lot of Obama voters are happy to know that Obama's VP was cleared of these allegations.

Oooh! Oooh! I'd be delighted to see this. They ought to round up a panel of late night comedians to apologize to her. They're the ones who trashed her the most, so fair is fair. They should interview her again, giving her every opportunity to redeem her good name.

Bwahaha! And yes, I think they should do this with a straight face, give her a real chance. That makes it all the more fun.

Why not? It's good form to take note of how carried away politics can get. And best of all, you just know it would result in fresh material. Because the lady can't help herself, she'll get about halfway through the interview and then say something really out there.

Yes, yes by all means let's set this up! That rumbling you hear in the background is Stewart, Colbert, and the SNL writers rubbing their hands in anicipation.

No.

First of all, the decision by the FEC was that further investigation was not merited because the funds used to purchase the clothing came from the Republican National Committee, not from the McCain-Palin campaign.

The decision does not weigh in on the ethics of the situation, but only that the RNC acted legally. The Republican Party is a private organization that serves a public function. Election laws have to make a distinction between the various accounts utilized by campaigns because of the private status of the political parties.

The focus of the complaint was not on Palin's actions, but on the Republican Party's actions in this matter. Palin's candidacy made her actions fair game to scrutiny and criticism. The FEC decision does not alleviate that. She did return clothing or sell clothing to compensate the RNC at least partially after the campaign, and that was commendable on her part.
