Evangelists don't need to be in politics, period.

Actually ... you did not say anything I haven't heard before. Many Christians feel the same way about athiests getting involved in politics as you feel about the involvement of evangelical Christians in politics. Since we have freedom of religion, evangelicals have just as much of a right to get involved in politics as the athiests do so we just need to respect each other's rights to be politically active then.

There is a major difference.

Evangelists are more than just Christians. They believe that the US should be a theocracy.

There is nothing wrong with Christians being in politics.

Yeah God-forbid we get women to stop murdering babies as a form of birth control or telling gays how basic human physiology works and we're tired of them crying for a cure for AIDS while they continue to be the overwhelming source of new AIDS infections among men in the US.

And there were many stories, again on Fox, about the uneasiness surrounding Romneys mormonism.
S-p-e-c-u-l-a-t-i-o-n is all it was. Perhaps people can't tell the difference between speculation or opinion and actual news and that's why you believe everything you hear or see from the MSM. Do you get a tingling feeling in your legs when you think of Obama or is that just your journalists?

Of course it didn't help that the FDL cult in Texas completely made national news during the primaries. I feel - can't prove - that the GOP pressured Romney to bow out during that time.
Sweet, more speculation. At least this time you admit it. Too bad you can't discern it on TV.

And as to your comment that all politicians abuse their office --- maybe so. But damnit, when they are caught at it there should be ramifications to those abuses.
No, we should throw them all out and reassert the people's place in this government instead of idiot Republicans and Democrats running roughshod over us.

I don't care if it is Huckabee or Kennedy the same rules should apply. And that belief is what seperates the true conservatives from the religious nutjobs who have taken over the party.
Yeah, because as you can see from my previous paragraph, this religious nutjob just doesn't understand right and wrong and holding ALL the politicians accountable.

Just as I've already challenged and no one has been able to answer, what policy or law has been enacted by conservative Republicans that is reflective of legislating theology?

I've never made that claim, so I'm the wrong person to ask.

On the other hand, there is no denying religion affects the beliefs of Republicans more than Democrats.

Sorry dude but AIDS is being spread more and more by men who stray from their women and all individuals who jump from bed to unprotected bed. Some people do use abortion like birth control while others use abortion to relieve themselves as a rape victim or victim of incest.

Yes I thnk the Democratic party draws its inspiration from religious values and beliefs....

I believe the Republican party is beholden to and intimidated by religious leaders associated with fundementalist christianity...(its base) ...much the way Iran is beholden and intimidated by the islamic fundementalists. It doesnt up hold religious values it promotes its materialistic callous intolerant worldview.
You realize that while Christ advocated to help people, He never advocated that one should take another's money to help people in need. He always told people to achieve than end as Christians. He never had the intent for Christians to take from other Christians or from non-believers to help those in need.
