Considering it IS a dialect of another larger language yes, I do consider it a language. I grew up in Germany and Austrian-German is quite different and I've always considered it a different language.
A sensible person would accept this and other posts explaining the linguistic
differences as enough information to back off. It's that last admin's "Never admit a mistake" tenet at work. More "much ado about nothing" GOP talking points, targeting the gullible.
Virtually ZERO educated individuals refer to Austrian as a language, esp. in the context of "they say in Austrian...."

The Harvard graduate did just fine. It is the desperate ones who want to throw mud high and go sit under it, that are being mocked at (without them realizing it).
Like them, you will believe whatever you want to. Nothing else will do. I can go pick a term or a phrase in Austrian, and you will come complaining that I meant Austrian language. The problem then, isn't with whether it implied Austrian language, or whether I knew there was such think (or not) as an Austrian language. The problem is with you who work on assumptions, parrot it five times/day, and call it the truth.

I'm not knocking Obama's intelligence - he's a very smart man - but you don't know sanrene from a hole in the wall, nor do you really know just how smart Obama is.
You're wrong. I've read dozens of her posts. I've read hundreds of her comments. I've seen her 'logic' since before the election. I've seen her intense focus on trivia since the election. President Obama is much, much smarter.
Just like the 'official' language of the U.S., UK and Australia is English.
WRONG ! I don't know about Australia or The U.K. but The U.S.A. does not have an official language. It has a common language. Our States have official languages, New Mexico has two, Spanish and English but the U.S.A. as a nation does not have an "OFFICIAL" language.
In Australian, one could say, many look like complete drongo, mate.

By saying so, I'm not claiming Australian is a language, but I'm taking advantage of Aussieism. Its as simple as that.

Okay the official language of Austria is German. There is no Austrian language, but there are a variety of dialects (there are also different dialects of German in Germany). If lets say...Angela Merkel went to Australia and said, "I don't know how to say this in Australian", people would say she was wrong. The same should go to Obambi.
