You agree with obama then that Austrian IS in fact a language?
Considering it IS a dialect of another larger language yes, I do consider it a language. I grew up in Germany and Austrian-German is quite different and I've always considered it a different language.

No, I know nothing about it, I'm not a native of Austria. In case you decided to gloss over all the other posts, it sounds like it's not completely out of left field. But then, you're just looking for something to go boo hoo hoo over again, so no matter how much someone proves you wrong, your thick head prevents you from acknowledging it.
It is still a derivative of German - there is no such thing as an Austrian language.
Because you know better than someone who grew up up there and might actually know enough about the language to know how many differences there are between German-German and Austrian-German.
And of course, those people who took the time to actually create a dictionary that details Austrian-German didn't have a clue either. Why on earth would they even need something like that - it's all just German, right?

Every language out there is a derivative of another language. English is a Germanic language, maybe we should start calling it 'German derived English', ya know... just to clear things up.
My great grandmother who grew up outside of Vienna refers to her language as Austrian. I'm a little more inclined to believe someone who actually lived there.

Your great grandmother might have also referred to Austria as the Hapsburg Empire or the Austro-Hungarian empire, but that isn't applicable nowadays, is it?
Languages:
German (official nationwide) 88.6%, Turkish 2.3%, Serbian 2.2%, Croatian (official in Burgenland) 1.6%, other (includes Slovene, official in Carinthia, and Hungarian, official in Burgenland) 5.3% (2001 census)
BTW, if you Obama supporters had just said "no biggie" and then moved on, this thread would have died long ago... Your need to defend every little thing that non-Obama-supporters post about only proves that you're not as confident in your support as you'd like everyone to believe...
